NO DICE. NO MANUALS. ROLEPLAYING REINVENTED.

Frustrated by the bloated rulebooks and homogeneity of the dominant role-playing systems, we set about creating a new system that would offer players more than a change in the number of dice. The mechanics of Strive were designed to make interacting with an imagined world totally intuitive, freeing up the players and their guide to fall into the deep, enthralling freedom that only RPGs can offer.

ROLEPLAY WITHOUT THE ROLLING

Rather than relying on the chance of dice, Strive’s deck-management system allows players to see, feel and then manipulate their options ahead of time, incentivising clever and imaginative roleplaying. With every difficult interaction with the world and it’s inhabitants the players must play up to two cards from their hand and explain what their character intends to do. These cards have one of four symbols on them, each representing a different domain of capability.

RULES-LIGHT. EXPERIENCE HEAVY.

Our focus on intuitive, thematic mechanics allows new players or GMs to jump into an adventure instantly, completely removing the barrier to entry that puts so many off getting started with RPGs. We did away with the reams of restricting rules that force players to wade through a quagmire of micro-management, instead offering players unhindered access to explore and engage with the Game Master’s narrative.
